The million-star hotel – Buubble

Looking for accommodation? Why not choose to sleep almost open air?

Some childhood dreams stay with us for our whole lives. Sleeping under the stars or watching the aurora borealis dance is one of those lifelong dreams. To fulfil these dreams the Bubble concept was born.

Forget the city, forget work and enjoy watching the aurora borealis dance for you. We can of course not guarantee you will see the lights but if they show up you will have a magical night. In the winter we have the aurora or the stars but in the summer you are going to be in the proximity to nature, wonderful birds, butterflies and great midnight-sun scenery.

Friðheimar – Food Experience

The theme of Friðheimar cuisine is tomatoes, in many different forms. And that’s not surprising, as four different varieties of tomato are cultivated in the greenhouses where lunch is served among the plants. A rare food experience. Come and enjoy it!

Ljósbrá – stone and mineral collection

The stone and mineral collection was owned by Sigurður Pálsson (Siggi) and Sigrún Sigfúsdóttir who started collecting when they lived in Höfn in Hornarfjörður around 1960. Their family decided to gather the whole collection and put it on display for the first time. It had always been their dream to open up an exhibition and now it has become a reality.

The family has been known for doing all sorts of artwork and crafting so here, in the one and same place, you are able to experience a tradition of collecting, a glance of beautiful specimens and pop into our workshop to see what we are up to and designing from day to day with our handcrafting.

We only use Icelandic woods, rocks and minerals in our crafting to make it even more authentic and special. A souvenir that has a story and meaning will give you a greater deal more in return and make your visit even more memorable.

The Cave People

Take a tour with us and explore how the cave people lived in the wild nature of Iceland less than 100 years ago. The cave is located in unspoiled nature only 40 min drive from Reykjavik, this is truly a magnificent place to visit.
